Anytime is a
great time to jump in the RV, hitch up the pop-up, load up the family and
the pets and head off to a campsite. Nothing is more peaceful and "de-stressing"
as pitching a tent in the beautiful scenic woodlands. Some campgrounds
have planned activities, some have fishing, trails and various water activities.
But whatever and where ever you choose, you'll be sure to have quality
family time.
Due to the large number of
campgrounds throughout the state of Pa.,we cannot describe them all. Provided
below is a list of the best camping resources available on the web for
the local Laurel Highlands area close to the Somerset and Cambria County
area's plus state resources for a complete detailed listing of camping
in our parks. Campgrounds often have sites for motorhome / RV hookups and
tent camping, and range from pen fields to beautiful lakeside areas
to moderately dense wooded areas.

Pennsylvania State Forests
Pennsylvania
Bureau of Forestry
State forests are Pennsylvania's
hidden recreational gems. With more than 2,500 miles of roads, visitors
find endless opportunities for motorized camping. More and more people
are taking to the trails and Penns Woods. Poor camping practices can destroy
the natural character of the Commonwealths back country. We must all learn
to use the back country wisely to prevent enviromental damage. |

Organized
Group Tenting
Pennsylvania State Parks
offer special opportunities for organized groups to tent or camp in a state
park. These areas are usually in a remote area of the park to allow your
group the opportunity to interact in a quiet, relaxing setting. Organized
Group Tenting Areas offer a rustic experience of camping in tents in the
great out-of-doors.
For a more sheltered
experience,
try
organized group cabin camps.
